Interested in volunteering your time as a Room Parent?
Room Parents are responsible for lending and/or coordinating assistance in the classroom and are an important link between the PTA and the parents in your classroom.
If you are considering becoming a class parent, these are some things a room parent may (but may not) be asked to do by your teacher:
Create a class roster
Coordinate classroom volunteers
Plan class parties and activities
Collect supplies for classroom use
At various times during the year, you will be asked by the PTA to volunteer and/or round up supplies from your classroom parents for the following PTA events and activities:
Staff Goody Day
Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week
Keep parents informed of upcoming PTA events, volunteer opportunities and PTA communication tools
Organize class teacher gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week, Holidays and/or End of the Year (Optional)
You will be invited to attend an orientation meeting at the beginning of the school year where you will receive an overview of the Room Parent role, have an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with other Room Parents.
